The main reason for the endangermant of the giant pandas is the Chinese government using the giant pandas food and habitat for infrastructure development. Which in simple terms is saying that the Chinese government wanted to use the giant pandas habitat to build dams, roads and railways. In 1990, when giant pandas were first endangered, the number of pandas dropped at a steady pace until World Wildlife Fund or WWF made an effort to try and limit the number of giant pandas dying. Another problem the giant pandas ran into was poaching or hunting illegally. In the very beginning the giant pandas endangerment, poaching hurt them very much until the enactment of the Wildlife Protection Act, which was introduced in 1988. Another reason why pandas are considered endangered animals are natural disasters. Many natural disasters have occured and have wrecked the pandas population immensely. In 2008, there was an earthquake that destroyed some of the giant pandas food and habitat. Not only did the earthquake destroy some of the pandas food and habitat, but also killed at least three pandas and wounded a few more.
